The Promised Land

I float towards heavens gates

I think to myself is it to late

To ask her why she broke my heart

To ask her why we fell apart

I see my father, he holds out his hand

I  go to grab it don’t think that I can

I need to know if her love was like mine

I need to know if we could have more time

My dad points to the grave I lay in

Down on her knees ocean eyes is preying

She tells me she is sorry for what she has done

Listening to her friends she knows that was dumb

Who cares if I was not from her crowd

Who cares if likening me was not aloud

She tells me if we could do it again

She would be more then my friend

I smile and take dads hand

He takes me towards the Promised Land

I  will stay with her until she dies

I will stay with her my ocean eyes
